I am a 6th generation Ohioan whose family roots go back to 1805 in Montgomery County, Ohio.
They say genealogy is a disease. The 'bug' bit me in the early 1990's, midway between celebrating my parent's 50th wedding anniversary and my father's 80th birthday. I suppose it was either a sense of my own mortality or that of the Johnson name that made me want to know about those who came before me. In any event, I began the process of researching my own family tree that will continue the rest of my life.
My personal genealogy has led me to a passion for helping others who are also searching for ancestors and descendants.
Chair of both Publicity and Publications Committees
Montgomery County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society
Genealogist specializing in Military Research

My genealogical research and photographs pertaining to President Obama's Irish ancestors were published in the book titled Hey, America; Your Roots Are Showing by Megan Smolenyak Smolenyak, author and consultant for the popular TV show "Who Do You Think You Are?"
In addition, I have been a researcher for "Who Do You Think You Are?" and provided documentation for two of their TV productions.
Family history research that I conducted was published in a biography of Dr. Robert Atkins titled The True Story of the Man Behind the War on Carbohydrates by Lisa Rogak.
