Thomas Lightfoot Reynolds
Thomas Lightfoot Reynolds was born about 1762 in Nansemond County, North Carolina, according to some sources. Thomas's son, Jonathan Henderson, lists his father's birthplace as Tennessee in the 1900 census of Guthrie County, Iowa. His birthplace and date have not been proven; however, I suspect Thomas may be the son of Christopher Reynolds and Mary Lightfoot who were married in Isle of Wight, Virginia in 1753.

Thomas married Nancy Henderson Sep 23, 1818 in Maryville, Blount County, Tennessee. Nancy was born Jul 06, 1794 in Virginia to Jonathan and Jane Henderson. Thomas and Nancy, along with their children, moved from Tennessee to Lawrence Co, IN. Thomas died there in 1830. Nancy married again on Jan 23, 1835 to William Guthrie. William Guthrie died a little more than a year and a half after his marriage to Nancy. Nancy moved the family to Jackson Township, Guthrie County, Iowa on Nov 13, 1855. She died in Guthrie County Apr 28, 1864. Her tombstone next to son Robert and daughter-in-law Leanna in Moffitts Grove Cemetery states "Nancy-wife of Thomas L. Reynolds."
