John J. Bell
John J. Bell was born Jan 11, 1821 in Pickaway County, Ohio and married Sarah Ann Kelley on Dec 10, 1841 in Pickaway County. Sarah was born about 1825 in Ohio. The family moved from Ohio to Story County, Iowa, possibly stopping in Indiana for a short time. After the birth of seven children, Sarah died in Story County, Iowa on Nov 06, 1859. John may have moved to Madison County, Iowa after Sarah's death. He enlisted as Private in Company I, 4th Regiment Iowa Cavalry Volunteers, Winterset, Madison Co, IA on Nov 16, 1861. He was discharged on Jan 29, 1863 as Sergeant at St. Louis, Missouri due to disability resulting from organic heart disease due to Typhoid Fever. After John's discharge, he married Mary E. McLain on Sep 08, 1864 in Story County, Iowa. Mary was born in Pennsylvania and died on Aug 15, 1923. John died before Mary on Mar 26, 1878 and is buried in Moffitt Grove Cemetery in Guthrie County, Iowa.

Alfredda Bell was born Aug 1858 in Story, Iowa; married Simpson Reynolds Feb 06, 1879 in Guthrie Co, Iowa; died Apr 01, 1950 in Guthrie Co, Iowa. Alfredda is buried in Union Cemetery, Guthrie Center, Iowa.
