REYNOLDS/LIGHTFOOT
Thomas L(ightfoot) Reynolds was born about 1762 in NC. I am trying to prove that his parents were Christopher Reynolds and Mary Lightfoot who were married in 1753.

Thomas married Nancy Henderson Sep 23,1818 in Maryville, Blount Co, TN. Nancy was born Jul 06, 1794, so she was quite a bit younger than Thomas. I suspect this may have been his second marriage.

Their first son, Jonathan Henderson, was born Jul 10, 1819 in Blount Co, TN. There were other children also born in TN. They moved to Lawrence Co, IN where my gg-grandfather, Robert, was born Feb 01, 1828.

According to history, Thomas died in 1830 although I have never been able to find his grave or any death record. Nancy married again to William Guthrie, William died a year and a half later. The 1850 Lawrence Co, IN census shows Nancy as head of household with Jonathan, Robert, Leanna (Robert's wife). The elder son Jonathan moved to Guthrie Co, IA and later Nancy followed with the rest of the family. The 1860 Guthrie Co, IA census shows Nancy Guthrie (age 66) living in household of Robert Reynolds and Leanna, along with Jonathan. Nancy died there in 1864.

The elder son, Jonathan, named one of his children Thomas Lightfoot Reynolds, according to the child's cemetery record. My ggg-grandfather's name was always documented with the middle initial L. Even Nancy's headstone says "wife of Thomas L. Reynolds." I suspect the L stands for Lightfoot. As I stated, Christopher and Mary were married in 1753. Their son Ezekiel was born Mar 03, 1760. Christopher married the second time in 1763. My Thomas was supposedly born in 1762. I have wondered if Mary may have died in childbirth when Thomas was born, but have found nothing to document that.
