Edward F. Poland was born at Xenia, Green County, Ohio, on December 9, 1882. He received his education and early training in the public schools of that city, and after growing to manhood removed to Dayton to seek his fortune. After numerous ventures he settled down to street railway work, and was employed by the Oakwood Street Railway Company when appointed a patrolman, January 6, 1910. He has been a member of Company I, Fourth Infantry, O. N. G. for the past five years. Mr. Poland is also connected with the I. O. O. F. lodge. He and his wife, Ada, are the happy parents of two children, Mabel and Robert.
