Alonzo Homer Dillman was born in the village of Camden, Ohio, Preble County, on May 24, 1875. He attended school in his native village and later at Richmond, Indiana. He chose the trade of steam fitter and followed it after removing to Dayton, until he was appointed turnkey at central police station, August 31, 1904. "Dill," as he is popularly known among the members of the police force, knows about all there is to the art of handling criminals. He is a member of the Tribe of Ben Hur, Knights of Pythias and Modern Woodmen. His wife's name is Jennie.
